Finding the Right Candidates
The proper composition of your board is absolutely essential. It’s more then bringing together talented individuals, rather you should find people whose talents complement each other and then orient and train them to excel as a group. There are two ways we can help you in this critical area.
Option 1 - Using Triangle BoardConnect (TBC) as a no-cost, stand alone resource
Triangle BoardConnect candidates completing profile at computer
You will have access to hundreds of candidate profiles by logging on to the boardnetUSA program and posting both your nonprofit profile as well as board positions you seek to fill. You can then communicate, through the program, with candidates that you have an interest in for your board or committee.
The starting point: Completing your Profile You should attempt to answer all questions asked by the boardnetUSA program in developing your profile. It reflects your organization’s commitment in working with the program. We have developed two resources to assist you in this process. We recommend you print them out and use them as resources in using our program:

Once you have completed your nonprofit profile, and listed the board positions your nonprofit is seeking, you will be able to start reviewing board candidates, and communicating with candidates you have an interest in.
Using TBC as a standalone resource is quite often all that many nonprofits need. You might, however, consider expanding your board development efforts to respond to internal board needs.
See Option 2 below to learn about the availability of additional assistance.
Option 2 - Combining the resources of Triangle BoardConnect with optional Executive Service Corps of the Triangle (ESC) Consulting Services
TBC is a program of ESC, which has been providing low cost professional consulting for Triangle nonprofits for over 20 years.
Board development consulting is at the core of our ESC practice. The goal of our Board development consulting is to help Boards be more effective, so that the organization or agency can, in turn, become more efficient. This makes the work of Board members more upbeat and meaningful.
We would be pleased to meet with an appropriate representative(s) of your organization to discuss how a combination of our low cost ESC consulting services and the free TBC program can significantly assist in strengthening your Board capabilities.
If you are interested, please call Trudy Smith, our Executive Director, at 919-294-9803 to schedule a no-obligation visit. We can discuss your particular needs, and then we will issue a proposal letter outlining the services we agree you need, and our proposed fee.
You do not need to consider using the services of ESC in order to use our no-cost TBC program.
